Bringing multiple generations of your family together for a beach vacation in a coastal setting offers the perfect opportunity to capture portraits of the kids at that fleeting age, the grandparents with their grandkids, and the family together without the stresses of work and a daily schedule.

The Outer Banks is a 130 mile stretch of barrier islands just off the coast of North Carolina, made up of a series of small coastal towns and sleepy fishing villages. Our favorite portrait locations include the town of Nags Head, our hometown, filled with family friendly beaches and a backdrop of classic oceanfront cottages. The town of Avon, surrounded by the scenic national seashore offers endless empty beaches with tall sand dunes, and Corolla is the hub of all vacation activity.

Each changing season offers a special opportunity with summer being our busiest and most active time of year. The springtime is beautiful as the dunes turn green and we enjoy long cool days, and the fall months feature uncrowded beaches and wonderful warm weather.
